While the power system is unstable due to frequent damage from shelling, the demand for portable generators has increased again. The most popular are gasoline models - simple, affordable and convenient for home, office or small business.
They are easy to start even in the cold season. Unlike diesel, gasoline units operate much quieter. And this, you must agree, is a significant advantage, especially if the generator is located next to the house or office.
In addition, the initial costs are lower than those of diesel counterparts. This makes a gasoline generator a profitable option for household needs or backup power for small facilities.
What should you consider before buying a generator?
Power: a 2–3 kW model is enough for a refrigerator, pump and several lamps. But if you need to power a boiler, washing machine or air conditioner, it is better to choose 5–7 kW.
Duration of operation: a standard tank provides 6–10 hours of continuous operation. If you need a longer time, look for models with a large tank or automatic refueling.
Type of start: there is a manual (cord) and electric starter. If the generator will be used by an elderly person or frequent starting is planned, it is better to take an electric starter.
Fuel: use fresh AI-92 or AI-95 gasoline, do not leave fuel in the tank for a long time - this impairs the operation of the carburetor.
Location: the generator should be located outdoors or in a well-ventilated place, no closer than 1.5 m to the walls to avoid the accumulation of exhaust gases.
Experts advise that before buying a gasoline generator, you should definitely calculate the total power of all devices that you plan to connect. This will help you choose a model without overloads and extend its service life.
