Description

Monochromatic light Monochromatic light is light of a specific color. At Gasolec we use monochromatic green, blue and red lamps as well as extra warm white lamps. Monochromatic light with a wavelength of 520-560 nm (green for humans) stimulates the increase in muscle cells and bone growth, and also increases the activity of the animals. Monochromatic light of 440-500 nm (blue for humans) stimulates protein production (increasing muscle cells), calms the animals and can reduce pecking problems. Monochromatic light of 620-700 nm (red for humans) stimulates the hypothalamus (production of hormones for reproduction; egg laying and fertility) and is known to prevent pecking problems. So in general for poultry we use for: Growing => Green and Blue Broilers => Green and Blue Layers => Red/Extra Warm White + Blue in case of serious pecking problems. Breeders => Red/Extra Warm White Farmers who use monochromatic light have often told us that their birds are calmer with monochromatic light. It is not only a question of providing the right color, but also of eliminating unwanted colors. Usually in compact fluorescent lamps / energy saving lamps the electronics or ballast are integrated into the lamp base and have to be thrown away at the end of their life. Gasolec B.V. offers a unique system in which the lamp and the ballast are stored separately. In general the service life of the ballast or adapter is four times longer than the life of the lamp!
