The agricultural sector has recently had the first place in the number of investments. This is one of the most profitable types of business, but at the same time one that requires full return and detailed calculation of expenses/income. There are many energy-consuming processes on farms, such as: watering, lighting, heating and others, and electricity tariffs in Ukraine are constantly increasing. Options for installing a solar power plant on a farm
Several options for installing solar panels are usually used for farming:
- Solar canopies – installation of panels on ready-made canopies or on special structures. This mounting option allows not only to generate electricity, but also protects cultivated plants from precipitation;
- Roof made of solar panels - installation of a solar station on the roof of sheds, greenhouses, hangars, greenhouses and other buildings. The ideal option is buildings around which there are no tall trees creating a shadow.
- Ground solar power plant – installation of panels and equipment on metal ground structures. The angle of inclination of the panels is selected in accordance with the geographical location and local features of shading.
- SES on the reservoir – the efficiency of the solar station on the water increases due to the natural cooling of the panels. They are also used to power pumps and oxygen compensators during the breeding of fish and other aquatic animals.
All installation options have their advantages, often farmers use combinations of different types of solar stations, which increases the overall efficiency.
Other possibilities of solar panels
In addition to maintaining the main electrical equipment on the site (watering and lighting), solar panels can be used to provide energy for related processes on the farm, for example:
- ventilation of buildings (for example, elevators);
- operation of equipment for heating premises with livestock;
- operation of various units for the preparation of fodder, mixtures, etc.
