In the first quarter of 2025, Andalex LLC, located in Tarashchansky district of Kyiv region, completed the modernization of one of its livestock facilities, which included the upgrade of the microclimate system and the introduction of automated solutions for watering and feeding pigs. The company entrusted the complex of works to VADA, a company specializing in the technical equipment of livestock facilities in Ukraine.
Microclimate control as the basis for livestock health
One of the main goals of the project was to ensure a stable microclimate in the fattening room.
To this end, a ventilation system with automatic control of temperature, humidity, and air exchange rate was installed. The uniform supply of fresh air helps to reduce ammonia and moisture levels, which is critical for maintaining the sanitary condition of the premises.
Modern feeding and watering systems
The farm has also installed an automated dry feeding system and a watering line with nipple drinkers that provide accurate feed and water dosing adapted to the age and physiological state of the animals. This helps to reduce feed losses, improve nutrient absorption and maintain stable weight gain.
“I must admit that we bought this pig farm in a deplorable state. There were just premises and pigs. That was it. No ventilation systems, no microclimate to speak of! Pits in the concrete floor in the cages where the animals were kept! Little by little, we brought this farm to the level we wanted. This is a striking difference between what we had and what we have now. And most importantly, it is noticeable both in the behavior of the animals and in the figures of weight gain and productivity. The humidity in the room has decreased, the appetite has become stable, and the number of ventilation problems has decreased. And most importantly, it is now easier for the staff to maintain order, and there is no need to spend time manually feeding or checking the water,” comments Marina Yurchenko, head of the farm at Andalex LLC.
This modernization of the farm is being implemented in close cooperation with VADA. The company's specialists helped with the selection of equipment, performed almost all the installation work, assisted with supervision, and carried out commissioning and staff training. The farm is already considering the possibility of scaling similar solutions to other pig farms of the enterprise. “You know, word of mouth works best. We were recommended this company by our colleagues, and we are pleased with our cooperation,” says Maryna.
